8th Latin American Music Festival at TCU
The 8th Latin American Music Festival -
September 29th to October 6th, 2011
Every two years, since 1998, TCU has presented the Latin American Music Festival continually hosting the participation of the most acclaimed Latin American composers and artists that perform, teach, and share their expertise with faculty and students.
Beyond TCU the Festival has engaged other educational and cultural institutions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including the Fort Worth ISD, from which more than 6,000 students have been invited to attend rehearsals, performances, and master classes designed especially for their age and school level.
Dr. Germán Gutiérrez, director of the TCU Center for Latin American Music, and the man behind the Festival, has as his mission the promotion of Latin American music and musicians in the United States. The Festival has been instrumental in the fulfillment of this mission.
