biography in Spanish
Peruvian born, Luchy Harth-Bedoya, began her musical instruction at a tender age as a pianist. She became concert pianist and performed with the National Orchestra of Peru and the Symphony Orchestras of Recife and Porto Alegre in Brazil.
Ms. Harth-Bedoya accompanied famous singers, like, Alfredo Kraus, Luis alva, Ernesto Palacios, Juan Diego Flores and Francesco Petrozzi among others.

She studied Choral Conducting under the Chilean conductors Marco Dusy and Guillermo Cardenas in Peru and maestro Hugh Ross at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. She received a scholarship from the OEA to continue her studies in Music Education in Argentina.

As a choral director she was the founder and conductor of the Choir "Aeroperu" and conducted the Peruvian Air Force Choir for 20 years, touring several cities in her native Peru, as well as, several cities in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and many others.

Ms. Harth-Bedoya conducted the Choir of the Opera of the Pro Art Foundation for seven consecutive years. She was the founder and conductor of the Choir of the Phillharmonic Orchestra of Lima performing major works as Beethovenīs Ninth Symphony, Carmina Burana, Mozartīs Requiem, Verdiīs Requiem and many others.

The Latin American Arts Festival is proud to count Ms. Harth-Bedoya among its guest artists, where she will conduct the TCU Choir and Opus Cuatro in Ramirez's Misa Criolla on Friday, April 23 at 7:30.
